Wet barns, fields
helpless but to shine.
Alone enough and owned
only by circumstance
(like a moonflower
opening in the dark
helpless but to shine.
Alone enough and owned
only by circumstance
(like a moonflower
opening in the dark
of its own accord)--
I count my blessings
in the raindrops on a bird.
The star blazing
one horse’s dark face
gives off what light I need.

Oh my! What a beautiful post!
ReplyDeleteThanks, goodtogrow! Just trying to do my part!
ReplyDeleteWell, I'm tired of the rain. 3.25" here last night, and the soil is so wet the taller plants are excavating holes where the stalks meet the soil. In other words, lots of flower staking today.
ReplyDeleteIf it makes you feel any better, Ben, we had water in the basement. Hope your garden didn't get hailed on!
ReplyDeleteWell that is much worse. No hail yet this year, knock on wood.
